Who is Coach Chris?
Chris Harrod is an accomplished executive and professional coach with more than 15 years of management-level experience in the public and private sectors. His work experience also includes 30 years of Federal Government service and seven years as a Division I Basketball Official. He’s been able to leverage these roles to help leaders and diverse teams grow to reach their full potential.
While Chris has several certifications in the coaching arena, he ultimately attributes his success to what he has learned from failure – his own, and the failure of others.

Chris was trained as an internal coach in the Federal Government. His credentials include the completion of the International Coach Federation (ICF) certified Federal Internal Coaches Training Program and the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance Certification at American University. He is currently credentialed with the ICF at the Professional Coach Certification (PCC) level. He also received a certification in Positive Leadership from George Mason.
People development is a passion for Chris, and he has played a key role in helping others overcome real and imagined obstacles to reach amazing new levels of achievement.

Chris currently serves as President of Harrod & Associates Coaching and Consulting LLC. He has also been a regular co-host on the Marketing Pulpit on Radio One station WOL, where he routinely discussed practical strategies for personal and professional growth.
His ability to translate the unique professional and personal experiences of his clients into tangible opportunities for personal and professional growth allows him to succeed with clients from diverse backgrounds and professions. His track record includes successfully coaching professionals in corporate, nonprofit and government organizations, as well as individuals dissatisfied with the status quo who desire a more fulfilling life.
Chris believes leadership is about relationships, and relationships are from the inside out. High emotional intelligence is essential to effective relationship management. He always seeks to help others learn to focus on the future while gaining strength from the past and considering both “What’s possible?” and “What’s next?”

Chris has been married to his bride, Janet, since 1988. They have two adult children.
